Originally a B.Sc (psychology) student, studying engineering wasn’t something I had ever considered until starting university. Once the idea was in my head, I couldn’t stop thinking about making that switch and I knew it I didn’t and least try, that I would regret it. So, I dove headfirst into the engineering life and never looked back since!

My name is Will, and I’m in my 5th year of industrial engineering. I got into IE because I’m very interested in the intersection between engineering and human factors, and how engineering can interact with other fields. I also have an interest in public policy and governance, which I have explored through working with the Dalhousie Undergraduate Engineering Society, the Canadian Federation of Engineering Students, and the Dalhousie Student Union.

Name: Colin Bruce
I'm Colin, and I'm in my 3rd year of industrial engineering. I'm in our discipline because I want improve services delivered to the public, while working to decrease our dependance on non-renewable resources. I like to stay active through hiking on weekends, and spend most of my free time on weeknights tending to my gardens or working on my motorcycle.

I chose IE because I like solving problems and creating practical solutions to improve day to day work. I work part time for the DND in analytics and digital solutions. My favourite courses so far have been Computer algorithms, Simulations, and organizational behavior. In my spare time I like to read, play guitar, and run.

I originally started off university as a science major hoping to get into pharmacy only to realize I absolutely despise chemistry. In which I changed into engineering! Industrial caught my eyes the most because of my love for coding and business. It worked the best for me. I have a B.Sc with a minor in business psychology!

I’m Alex, an active Dal eng student. I play volleyball and tennis, and love to go on adventures. I’m in Industrial Engineering because I want to work in the healthcare industry, working to update and improve pre-existing systems and help doctors save lives.

5th yr IE, favourite pass time is to play music. I work part time as a bartender to pay for school. I chose IE because I have always been interested in many of the optimization/improvement principles we learn in IE. I work hard now, so that I won’t have to later in life.
